Vardenafil 20mg – Generic Levitra

Levitra (Vardenafil hcl 20mg) is a drug that is designed for the managing of erectile dysfunction in males.

Certain precautions should be taken while taking this medication. Be aware of a number of side reactions that are likely to occur during the treatment with Levitra. This medication if used together with some other drugs can cause a sudden drop of blood pressure that can be very dangerous for your health. In this case you can feel such symptoms as dizziness, fainting, or can even experience heart attack or stroke.

Contraindications of using Levitra

You should avoid using Levitra if you take any of the nitrates medications that are indicated for managing chest pain, or recreational drugs such as amyl nitrate and butyl nitrate as these drugs can cause extremely low blood pressure.

This medication should not be used in patients that have been recommended by healthcare provider not to have sexual intercourse because of certain health disorders. Remember that sexual activity might put an extra load on your heart, particularly if you have a history of a heart attack or cardiac disease.

In case of emergent medical care for your heart problems, tell your health provider that you are taking Levitra.

Remember that Levitra doesn’t prevent from STDs.

Prior starting the treatment with Levitra, consult with your medical provider and inform him about medical problems that you might have, including the following: cardiac problems (angina, heart failure, heart rhythm irregularities, a history of a heart attack), low/high blood pressure, have a history of a stroke,

seizures, liver or kidney problems, have retinitis pigmentosa, have ever had vision loss, as well as other vision problems, hearing problems, a bleeding problem, blood cell problems, have a deformation of penis, have had an erection that continues more than 4 hours.

Also make sure you tell your medical provider about all the medications you are using as Levitra and other drugs may affect the actions of each other.  Particularly let your health provider know if you take the following medications: alpha-blockers that are often prescribed to manage prostate problems or hypertension. The use of   PDE5 inhibitors including Levitra together with  alpha-blockers can reduce blood pressure to a significant degree that can lead to fainting; medicines that are used to treat abnormal heartbeat such as quinidine, amiodarone,  sotalol, and others. Among other medications that you should mentioned about are Ritonavir, Saquinavir or Atazanavir, Ketoconazole or Itraconazole.

Levitra should be used according to the doctor’s recommendations. This drug is available in different dosages – 2.5, 5, 10, and 20 mg. The typical starting dose of this drug is 10 mg that should be taken once daily.  For some males a low dose of Levitra medication is prescribed because of certain health conditions as well as for elder patients.

Common adverse effects that might happen during the treatment with Levitra are headache, blushing, indigestion, stomach disorders, stuffed or runny nose, or dizziness. In rare cases Levitra can provoke an erection that continues more than 4 hours. If this condition is observed, seek medical attention without a delay. Among other rarely observed side reactions are color vision changes, an unexpected decrease or loss of vision or a loss in hearing, sometimes accompanied with giddiness.

In fact, it is not known for sure whether these reactions are influenced directly by the action of PDE5 inhibitors.
